Ingredients required to make paneer masala recipe
- Paneer cubes - 1 ½ cups
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Tomatoes (finely chopped) - 1 cup
- Fresh cream - ½ cup
- Salt - As per taste
- To make a smooth paste
- Onions (Roughly chopped) - ¾ cups
- Khus-khus (poppy seeds) - 2 teaspoon
- Freshly coconut (grated) - 1 tablespoon
- Dalchini (cinnamon) - 2 sticks
- Laung (cloves) - 2
- Kalimirch (peppercorns) - 6
- Whole Kashmiri red chillies (dry) - 6 (Broken into pieces)
- Dhania (coriander) seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Jeera (cumin seeds) - 1 ½ teaspoon
- Garlic cloves (lehsun) - 5
The process to make paneer masala
1) To make the smooth paste, add all the ingredients in a blender and make a fine paste out of it using 2 tablespoons of water.
2) Take a non-stick pan and heat the oil. Then add prepared paste and saute for around 2 minutes on a medium flame. Stir occasionally.
3) Then add chopped tomatoes and continue to cook for 1 to 2 minutes on a medium flame.
4) Then add the cream, salt and half cup of water. Mix them well and cook for further 5 – 6 minutes on medium flame. Stir occasionally.
5) Time to add the paneer into the mixture. Mix gently and cook for further 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame. Stir the mixture occasionally.
6) Once done, switch off the flame and pour the paneer masala into a serving plate.
7) Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with parathas.
8) Paneer masala is ready.
